A high ranking delegation from French Embassy in Tehran, paid a visit to University of Tabriz

Mr. Jean-Christophe Bonte Scientific counselor, Dr. Jameel Obeshou, Cultural counselor, and Zohreh Mirbaha, Senior Expert of French Embassy in Tehran, met with Prof. Mir Reza Majidi chancellor, Dr asghar Asghari vice-chancellor for Research and Technology,  Dr saeed shojaei, Director of  the international Academic Cooperation Directorate  and other officials in University of Tabriz.

Dr. Mirreza Majidi, the chancellor of The University of Tabriz with referring to the long standing academic cooperation between the two countries stated: "In the past and present, favorable cooperation has been founded between two countries and it is notable that most of the significant faculty members in our university are graduated from French universities. He continued University of Tabriz has established good academic and educational relations with research centers, institutes and universities in France recently.

Dr. Asghar Asgari, the vice-chancellor of Research and Technology of University of Tabriz, emphasized on the necessity of expanding scientific cooperation in various fields, including the establishment of the French Embassy's office in the University of Tabriz, the implementing of joint Ph.D. programs and etc.

Dr. Saeed Shojaei, Director of The International Academic Cooperation Directorate mentioned to the process and circumstance of joint cooperation between the University of Tabriz and French universities, and added: Over the last two years, French university researchers paid 21 formal visits in purpose of educational workshop and scientific conferences to University of Tabriz.

According to his declaration, the implementation of 4 joint research projects, the preparing of 5 study opportunities, 5 scholarships for Ph.D. students, 4 Jundishapur projects, and participation of 19 faculty members at the international conferences in France have been other joint activities of the University of Tabriz with the French Universities.

In the following Dr. Jameel Obeshou cultural Counselor of French embassy in Tehran emphasized that University of Tabriz is one of the nominated universities of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology for joint Ph.D. program, he continued students could study and research in France for a six months period with funding of France and for the same period of time with funding of Science Research and Technology Ministry, Iran.  

As well as the Jundee Shapour plus Program, which will implement from 2019, includes a specific budget for purchasing equipment and logistics affairs in joint research projects between Iranian and French researchers.

Moreover, they had a meeting with Members of the Working Group on International academic Cooperation Development, as well as members of the Research Council of University of Tabriz. During this meeting which held in University of Tabriz innovation center they presented information about expanding academic cooperation with French Universities and answered to the participants and audiences questions.
