Mission:
International Academic Collaborations Directorate, as the name suggests, is missioned to enhance the university International academic interaction with a diversity of internationally accredited higher institutions, Universities and research centers throughout the world.
Major tasks and duties:
Ø To Establish academic links with accredited universities and higher institutions of the world.
Ø To draw up and implement academic collaboration protocols, memoranda of understanding, contracts, agreements.
Ø To sponsor and provide opportunities for faculty staff members (instructors) to pursue their higher studies in accredited universities throughout the world.
Ø To sponsor and create opportunities for faculty staff members to attend short-term and long-term courses and research programs abroad
Ø To sponsor and prepare setting for organizing national, regional and International seminars, conferences, workshops and congresses.
Ø To hire foreign specialists and scientists within the frameworks of inter-university collaboration agreements.
Ø To obtain membership to international associations, academic bodies and unions etc.
Minor tasks and duties:
Ø To do necessary correspondences with foreign universities concerning academic collaborations and preparing the preliminaries for academic, Athletic and cultural links
Ø To prepare and propose draft directives, general regulations and instructions regarding international affairs to the Chancellery Board for approval
Ø To estimate annual credits necessary for realization of approved programs.
Ø To prepare academic statistics
Ø To prepare proceedings of the university Research Committee meetings.
Ø To keep the faculty staff informed on current and oncoming national and international academic events, conferences, seminars, congresses etc.
Ø To prepare annual function reports
Ø To provide variety of official services for the foreign visiting academics, scholars and scientists engaged in studying, teaching, conducting research or spending sabbatical leaves at the University of Tabriz.
